Devenish Island Monastic Site

Devenish Island contains the ruins of Fermanagh's Lough Erne's most important monastry. It was founded in the 6th century whil St Molaise was on a pilgrim route to Croagh Patrick. It later became an Auustine Priory of St Mary.

The remains include a 30m high, 12th century round tower (which visitors can climb), a Romanesque church, crosses and the Priory Church. There is also a museum, which contains sculpture from the churches.

The Ferry to Devenish Island leaves from Trory point, down a short lane at the junction of the B52 to Kesh and the A32 to Ballinamallard. 1.5 miles out of Enniskillen.
